Botulinum toxin injections, commonly known as Botox, are an aesthetic procedure used to soften facial wrinkles and expression lines. The toxin, produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, blocks the nerve signals that trigger muscle contraction, temporarily smoothing the skin for a younger look.
