Upper blepharoplasty removes the excess skin of the upper eyelid. It is indicated for aesthetic concerns (drooping eyelids) and/or functional impairment of the upper visual field. It is performed by Dr Prud'homme, ophthalmic surgeon subspecialised in eyelid surgery in Boulogne-Billancourt and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés.

The procedure
The procedure is performed as day surgery under local anaesthesia and takes about thirty minutes. Recovery involves little pain, with variable swelling and bruising in the first few days.
Scar and recovery

Will the scars be visible?
The incision is placed in the natural eyelid crease: it is invisible with the eyes open, then fades over a few months until it becomes very hard to notice.
When is the result visible?
Normal social life resumes around day 10 (stitches removed around day 7). The result is almost final at 3 months, once residual swelling has settled.
